Lasers Could End Cindy McCain's pain

This story headline appears in the September 15, 2008 edition of the Globe Healthcare Report section of Globe Magazine. The article clearly supports MicroLight’s ML830® as a proper remedy for carpal tunnel syndrome, announcing “New treatment halts carpal tunnel misery.”
Apparently John McCain’s wife suffered a reoccurrence of her carpal tunnel syndrome after a fan aggravated her condition by shaking hands with too much enthusiasm. Although Cindy previously had surgery to correct her carpal syndrome problem, Dr. Glen Smith of Dallas, a pioneer in low level laser therapy, wonders why Mrs. McCain chose surgery instead of laser therapy. He calls laser therapy “the latest technique” and one that is “less invasive and requires no downtime after treatment.” Dr. Smith also says surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome “is not as effective as laser treatment and can cause scarring that further aggravates the condition.”
Added support for MicroLight’s ML830® as a proper modality for treating carpel tunnel syndrome comes from a professor of rheumatology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. Dr. Alan Lichtbroun is quoted by GLOBE to say “I only recommend surgery in very severe cases of carpal tunnel because it leaves the hand much weaker than before.” GLOBE also adds Dr. Lichtbroun’s very important statement that “the MicroLight laser is an FDA-approved [please read “FDA-cleared”] method that helps the cells heal themselves and offers relief in more than 80 percent of the cases I’ve treated.”
